Team Reed Foundation

Passion with Purpose

Patrick Reed’s story has always been about more than golf. While the game has given him a platform on the world stage, it has also given him something deeper — a responsibility to give back.

The Team Reed Foundation, founded in 2016, reflects that commitment. Rooted in Patrick’s own journey and the support he received from his Houston, Texas community, the Foundation focuses on issues that hit closest to home: fighting homelessness, supporting veterans, and creating opportunities for kids to pursue their passion for golf.

Patrick knows firsthand how access can change the course of a young athlete’s life. He believes investing in children is one of the most powerful ways to invest in our future — because every swing, every lesson, every opportunity can spark a dream.

From rallying support during crises like Hurricane Harvey to hosting junior golf tournaments that open doors for the next generation, the Team Reed Foundation has one goal: to make a lasting difference where it matters most.

This isn’t just philanthropy — it’s passion with purpose.

The Foundation was born out of a simple truth: golf gave Patrick opportunities he could never have imagined, and he wanted to ensure others had the same chance. From junior golfers chasing their first win, to military families balancing service and sacrifice, to children’s hospitals bringing hope to young patients — the Team Reed Foundation exists to lift others up, both inside and outside the ropes.

The Team Reed Foundation is a 501(c)(3) donor-advised fund in partnership with the Greater Houston Community Foundation. Established in 2016, the Foundation was created as a way for Patrick and his family to give back to the game of golf and to the communities that have supported them along the way.

At its heart, the mission is simple: to use golf as a platform for impact — fighting homelessness, supporting veterans, investing in children’s health, and giving young athletes the tools and opportunities to chase their dreams.

The Patrick Reed Scholarship

What began in 2019 as a partnership between the Team Reed Foundation and the Southern Texas PGA Foundation has become one of the Foundation’s most meaningful traditions: the Patrick Reed Scholarship.

Awarded annually to a graduating senior who exemplifies the spirit of a student-athlete, this scholarship provides $10,000 toward college tuition for students who demonstrate excellence in academics, athletics, and community service.

The very first recipient, Zachary Slayton, headed to Colorado Christian University in 2019. Since then, more young men and women have followed in his footsteps — proof that this scholarship is more than financial support. It’s an open door to a future built on hard work, integrity, and opportunity.

Our Mission in Action

Over the years, the Foundation has supported groups such as St. Benedict’s Homeless Shelter in Owensboro, the Ronald McDonald Foundation, Fisher House, the Duke Center of Cancer Research, and the American Junior Golf Association.

In 2025 and beyond, the Foundation is focusing even more on smaller, community-based charities where support makes an immediate, lasting difference. Whether it’s providing shelter, advancing medical research, or empowering junior golfers, the mission remains clear: to serve, uplift, and give back where it matters most.

The Patrick Reed AJGA Invitational

The Green Jacket Kid and the Future of Golf

Before the Masters victory, before the Ryder Cups, Patrick was just another junior golfer trying to outwork his competition. In those early days, what mattered most wasn’t just talent. It was access to tournaments, mentorship, and the belief that the future of golf had a place for him.

Since 2014, Patrick Reed has lent his name and leadership to what has become one of the most respected junior golf events on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) calendar — the Patrick Reed AJGA Junior Championship, held each summer at The Woodlands Country Club in Texas. This annual tournament brings together top boys and girls ages 12–19 in a 54‑hole stroke‑play competition that highlights competitive excellence and sportsmanship within golf’s next generation.

For Patrick, it’s more than a tournament. It’s a homecoming, a chance to give kids the tools and opportunities some don’t always have.

Tools for Tomorrow’s Champions

More than just a competitive stage, the AJGA event has become a powerful charitable force. Over the years, the tournament and its supporters have raised well over $1 million in charitable contributions; funding critical initiatives like the AJGA’s Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant, which helps junior golfers earn college scholarships; and supporting local youth golf programs. This championship is about more than scorecards. It’s about creating an environment where young golfers can thrive — with access to equipment, coaching, and competition that prepares them for the next level.

The event has also been repeatedly recognized by the AJGA for its outstanding community impact and fundraising success. It has earned accolades including Charitable Giving Awards, Volunteer Awards, and honors for excellence among junior‑am tournaments — a testament to the commitment of Patrick, the tournament committee, volunteers, sponsors, and the broader golf community.

Through this Invitational, Patrick Reed continues to invest in the future of the sport, creating opportunities for young athletes to compete, grow, and pursue their dreams both on and off the course.

Impact Beyond the Fairways

With support from partners like GrindworksUSA, who’ve developed custom junior irons designed for forgiveness and growth, the Invitational is equipping players physically and mentally for the challenges ahead.

For corporate partners and sponsors, this isn’t just a tournament. It’s a chance to align with mentorship, youth development, and the growth of the game at its grassroots. Your support makes an impact that goes far beyond golf. It helps shape character, build communities, and inspire the next generation of leaders.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Join us in shaping tomorrow’s champions. Because the next Green Jacket doesn’t start with a trophy. It starts with a swing, a mentor, and the belief that every kid deserves a chance.

LIV Golf’s Vision for Change

LIV Golf League's "Potential, Unleased" initiative diagram

Through sport, LIV Golf doesn’t just compete — it creates. Its ‘Potential, Unleashed’ initiative combines sustainability, education, and diversity in one bold strategy. From empowering half a million students with STEM education to launching refugee resilience programs worldwide, the league is showing how golf can be more than a game. It can be a force for change.

Driving Impact Beyond the Fairways

  • Educational access through LIV To Learn and Discovery Education.

  • On-the-ground youth clinics in Nashville, Jeddah, and Mexico City.

  • A landmark $10M partnership with UNHCR for displaced communities.

  • Innovations through LIV LABS and sustainable event practices.

  • The Impact Leaderboard gamifies social good — rewarding teams for their charitable, educational, and sustainability efforts. The league’s top four teams earn more than $150,000 in donations to community programs, funding everything from scholarships to environmental initiatives.

Together, these programs prove LIV Golf’s belief that sport has the power to transform lives, inspire the next generation, and strengthen communities worldwide.
